The International Public Relations Research Conference was a research and networking success!
From March 5-7, 2026, members of our COMMunity attended the International Public Relations Research Conference (IPRRC) in Orlando, FL!
- Grad Student Andrew Donkor presented, "Public Engagement Strategies in Crisis Communication: A Comparative Analysis of the American Red Cross and FEMA’s Social Media Messaging During the California Wildfires"
- Grad Student Tania Chanda presented her research, "AI Ethics and Corporate Communication in Practice"
- Grad Student Marcus Wu presented, "Can organization’s disaster relief lead to higher organization reputation, motivate publics information seeking and prosocial behavior?"
- His research earned him the Fullintel Media Insights and Impact Award
- Assistant Professor Yan Qu presented a paper involving multiple of our COMM faculty members and students, including Carina Zelaya, Anita Atwell Seate, Brooke Liu, and Tania Nachrin. The title is "Preparedness is social: Examining parents’ discussion networks and preparedness for measles outbreak."
- Dr. Qu also collaborated with Dr. Jordan Morehouse (University of Colorado Boulder) on, "When help becomes harm: Examining the role of generative AI In employee disengagement."
