COMMGrads is the graduate student organization for the Department of Communication, offering leadership and representation to department graduate students.

Cheló̱na RSA is the University of Maryland’s graduate student chapter of the Rhetoric Society of America.

Black Communication Society
The Black Communication Society was created by students to develop a union of communication students of color dedicated to truth and excellence in all communication professions.
Lambda Pi Eta - National Communication Association's honor society
Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association's official honor society at four-year colleges and universities.
Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA)
The Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) is a nationally recognized, dues-paying, professional organization. PRSSA is made up of more than 10,000 students across the country and offers professional development, networking opportunities and news. The UMD Chapter of PRSSA develops several events throughout the year to connect students with exciting opportunities in the field of public relations.
Undergraduate Communication Association (UCA)
The Undergraduate Communication Association (UCA) is a student-run organization open to all majors in the Department of Communication. Members of UCA develop and demonstrate leadership working with a faculty advisor to plan social events and cocurricular activities for communication majors.
