Andrew Donkor is a passionate Ph.D. student in Communication, specializing in Public Relations and Strategic Communication. He completed his M.A. in Applied Communication Studies at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, USA, and his B.A. in Communication Studies at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana. His research primarily focuses on Public Relations, Political Communication, and Strategic Communication. Specifically, he explores how political public relations strategies, digital media technologies, and strategic communication tactics influence public opinion and shape political discourse in established democracies such as the United States and in emerging democracies like Ghana and other African nations.

Andrew’s master’s thesis was titled “Investigating the Utility of Social Media and Political Public Relations in Presidential Campaign Discourse: Donald Trump’s Rhetorical Strategies in the 2024 U.S. National Elections.” He has presented at several conferences, including the National Communication Association and the Central States Communication Association.

At the University of Maryland, he teaches COMM 107: Oral Communication: Principles and Practices, where he strives to empower students by enhancing their critical thinking and communication skills. His goal is to create an inclusive learning environment that encourages open dialogue and active participation.

In addition to his academic pursuits, Andrew is actively involved in social impact advocacy and climate activism. He is deeply passionate about contributing to the development of his community and the world, and is committed to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Andrew is eager to continue making a meaningful difference through his research, advocacy, and community engagement.
