Department of Communication Professor, Dr. Carly Woods  was selected as a  Graduate Faculty Mentor of the Year Award Winner by the University of Maryland Graduate School.

Outstanding faculty mentors are a hallmark of excellent graduate education. The Graduate Faculty Mentor of the Year Award recognizes faculty members who have made exceptional contributions to a student’s (or students’) graduate experience. This Award serves the dual purposes of acknowledging outstanding mentoring provided by individual faculty and of reminding the university community of the importance of mentoring to graduate studies.

The Graduate Faculty at the University of Maryland comprises over 1500 tenured/tenure-track professors, plus many distinguished Adjunct and Special members. To be recognized as a Graduate Faculty Mentor of the Year Award Winner is an achievement for which we are very proud of Dr. Woods!

The Award carries an honorarium of $1,000 to support mentoring activities.
