Fall 2024 CHRC Workshop on Computational Content Analysis

You're invited to the Fall 2024 Center for Health and Risk Communication (CHRC) Workshop on Computational Content Analysis with Dr. Rob Wells!

The event will take place on Friday, November 15, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. via Zoom.

Dr. Rob Wells, an Associate Professor at the Philip Merrill College of Journalism, will discuss the broad possibilities for research in computational text analysis and how these tools can assist scholars in discerning narratives in large groups of documents.

About Dr. Wells:

Rob Wells, a 2016 Ph.D. alum of Merrill College, is a journalism historian who has taught at the University of South Carolina and the University of Arkansas. He has more than two decades of business journalism experience at The Associated Press, Bloomberg News and The Wall Street Journal. While at Arkansas, Wells ran ArkansasCovid.com, a statewide daily data and news website reporting on the pandemic. He also partnered with Merrill’s Howard Center for Investigative Journalism on multiple projects. Wells is the author of “The Enforcers: How Little-Known Trade Reporters Exposed the Keating Five and Advanced Business Journalism” (University of Illinois Press, 2019), and "The Insider: How the Kiplinger Newsletter Bridged Washington and Wall Street" (University of Massachusetts Press, 2022).
