The University of Maryland chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association's Honors Society, invites you to join us for a career conversation with one of our alumni, Heather Davis Epkins, Ph.D., who has built experience across a variety of professional fields. She is a strategic communications leader, educator, and AI-enabled marketing practitioner with more than 20 years of experience spanning government, defense, academia, and the private sector. She currently serves as an Internal Communications Strategist at SAIC, supporting enterprise-wide communications for a workforce of 25,000 employees. Epkins has led high-impact communications initiatives across federal, state, and nonprofit environments, including roles supporting the Governor’s Coordinating Offices in Maryland, the Maryland Environmental Service, and the U.S. Naval Academy Alumni Association and Foundation. Her background also includes experience as a Capitol Hill press secretary and journalist, bringing a deep understanding of media, public affairs, and stakeholder engagement.
During this session, she will share:
