ARHU Spring 2025 Commencement Ceremonies
Due to safety concerns related to the forecast for severe weather on Wednesday, May 21, the University of Maryland's main commencement ceremony will move to its scheduled rain date of Thursday, May 22. Gates will open at 5 p.m. in SECU Stadium and the student processional will begin at 6 p.m. The ceremony will be livestreamed on commencement.umd.edu for all to enjoy. After a sold-out visit to campus in Fall 2024 as part of our College of Arts and Humanities Dean’s Lecture Series, Kermit the Frog will return to the university to share an inspiring message with this year’s graduates as the commencement speaker. This change to the main commencement ceremony date does not affect the school and department schedule of ceremonies.
In addition to the main ceremony, each graduate and their guests are invited to attend the individual ceremony for their school or department. At these individual ceremonies, graduates walk across the stage and have their names read. Schools and departments within the College of Arts and Humanities will hold individual commencement ceremonies on Wednesday, May 21, Thursday, May 22 and Friday, May 23, 2025.
