Amplifying Racial Justice in Rhetorics of Health and Medicine

Dr. Kimberly Harper, Prof. Veronica Joyner, and Dr. Maria Novotny for a panel-style talk entitled "Amplifying Racial Justice Work in Rhetorics of Health and Medicine". Dr. Harper, Prof. Joyner, and Dr. Novotny each use their work to think about the ways that marginalized communities navigate rhetorics of health and medicine and their comments will offer multiple rhetorical points of entry to this discussion ranging from an extension of the concept of citational politics, to language choice, to community ethos, and more. Together, they are expanding the disciplinary conversation in this area by calling for new scholarship that amplifies racial justice work in rhetorics of health in medicine.
