Seble Solomon is a Ph.D. student in the Rhetoric & Political Culture track in the Department of Communication. Seble received her B.A. in Communication, with specialization in Media & Digital Studies, from the University of Maryland, College Park. Seble's research interests include rhetoric, media studies, persuasion, and popular culture, with a particular focus on how the evolution of digital media in reshaping political communication and influencing public discourse. Having fled her home country of Eritrea with her family due to political persecution, Seble brings firsthand insight into societies where independent media is prohibited, public deliberation is stifled, and dissent is punished with ostracism or imprisonment. She hopes to integrate her lived experiences with her academic pursuits, advocating for robust and inclusive public discourse grounded in first principles, compassion, and humane justice.
