Katie O'Malley

Katie O'Malley is a doctoral student on the Rhetoric and Political Culture track in the Department of Communication at University of Maryland. She earned a B.A. in Communication and a B.A. in Hispanic Studies from Pepperdine University. She is interested in rhetoric broadly, but specifically how it is used as a tool for advocacy in the realms of feminism and religion. Prior to coming to UMD, Katie has worked in marketing, advocacy and public policy, and as a conference planner. Outside of work, Katie enjoys being active, spending time outdoors, and writing for leisure.
