Gareth (he/him) is a member of the professional-track faculty in Communication. He earned his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Maryland in Public Relations. Gareth previously earned a Master of Arts from St. John's College, Annapolis, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing and Psychology from Towson University. He has taught courses in public relations, professional writing, oral communication, strategic interviewing, and communication ethics. His research centers how organizations influence their political and cultural environments through ethical and unethical communications. Gareth's professional career includes work as a research scientist at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and several years leading an award-winning technical and outreach communications team at an engineering and program management consulting company. His work has supported multiple federal agencies, including the Department of Energy, Department of Homeland Security, and NASA.
