Emma Newton is a Ph.D. student in Rhetoric & Political Culture in the Department of Communication at the University of Maryland. She received her B.A. in Communication and Political Science from the University of Minnesota, and her M.A. in Communication from the University of Northern Iowa. Emma's research interests explore the rhetorical intersections of political, gender, and racial identity, and specifically focuses on conservative women's rhetoric. She also has interests in the rhetorics of social movements, including space, place, and time, as well as visual rhetoric. Emma currently teaches COMM 107.
