Ayodeji Dapherede is a qualitative research scholar with concentration in Health and Intercultural Communication. She consults with graduate and undergraduate students, both in the U.S and in Nigeria, on career paths in Communication and related fields. She serves as the Medical Outreach and Education Team Lead at PCOSAA, a nonprofit organization designed to provide support and accurate health related information to people diagnosed with PCOS.
As a teacher-scholar Dr. Dapherede endorses engaged pedagogy specifically aimed at empowering students from diverse populations to articulate their unique ideas and points of views. She advocates for all students especially those from underserved populations.
Dr. Dapherede earned her Ph.D. at George Mason University where she studied the communication challenges of people with invisible conditions. She teaches Interpersonal Communication and Intercultural Communication. Before Academia she was a fashion entrepreneur and a media house senior editor in Nigeria.
